Who Am I?” - an exploration of self. 
The exhibit is anchored by the group of nine – a series of mandalas executed by the artist in the 1990’s as an exercise in discovery.  
Carl Gustav Jung purported the mandala or circle to be a symbol representing the total personality or Self.  The artist has built on this idea by using the circle as a means of pushing the expression and exploration of Self; inner conflicts and questions; to solidify a hypothesis of Self and the sum of who she felt to be at the time.
This group of nine has not previously been displayed as a unit to the public.

Who I Am is a theme frequently revisited by the artist. 
As a means of exploring struggles with identity, self-worth and sense of relevance in the world.

Artist's thoughts . . .

I often find myself feeling unheard and unseen.  Art is a voice to put self in the foreground to be seen and heard.  I believe the mindset of acknowledging self is important.  Trends throughout the world are pushing individuals backwards.  This continuing series is an exploration of finding self.  I leave it to the viewer to decide if self is fading or emerging.

I call the series “Vanishing” yet, I believe it is a study in looking for power and emerging from obscurity.

A collection of affordable art.  Each of these miniature pieces is created with the same time and care as the larger pieces.  You can always find a place for one or more these.  Group them on a wall, stand them on a table, bookcase or windowsill.  Enjoy these small works of original art, pastel and cold wax medium.
